This rich media website will allow visitors to discuss, imagine, and design a desired future. An interactive CO2 Meter will show how the solution to climate change depends on many sustainable technologies and changes to our development patterns, most of which result more vibrant places to work, live, and play.

The site will allow visitors to discuss, imagine, and design a desired future. A Two Futures tour will allow visitors to zoom in on examples of climate change and on examples of sustainable development. An interactive CO2 Meter will show how solving climate change lies in the combination of many different sustainable technologies. As different solutions are turned on, the meter will show the long range effects on carbon emissions. After visiting and exploring the site, viewers will be more educated on issues surrounding smart growth, renewable energy, alternative forms of transit, and conservation.

The website will also link planning professionals and policy makers to world class tools that help them analyze the environmental and economic impacts of their decisions and that promote civic engagement in planning.Below are examples of the kind of animation that will be incorporated into the exhibit and website:

How does Light Rail positively affect land use?

This video shows the relationship between investing in Light Rail Transit and creating vibrant, walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods. A combination of live action filming and computer generated graphics are used to touch the viewer emotionally and show how walkable urban places can offer a high quality of life and a lower carbon footprint.
